Lilli Todd
is undeniably an incredibly talented woman! Both a graphic designer and our social media guru, she is one creative we are incredibly honoured to have part of the Apéro team! At only 19 years old, Lilli is a true example of proving that age is just a number. Now working at Apero and undertaking her own freelance business, this is one creative you should keep an eye out for! Read our interview with Lilli below to find out what it’s like working in the Apéro office!

What does a day in the life of Lilli look like at Apéro?

A lot of planning and conceptualising haha. Most days, I usually get into work around 8 am, I’m a very organised and planned type of person so I like to write down and clearly outline my day. I will always get a coffee (flat white on almond milk to be exact), then it’s sitting down and designing. Every day is really different, creating campaign designs, Instagram stories, EDM’s, look books and planning future shoots and concepts.

What role have women played in your success?

All the girls around me have always been very encouraging and inspiring causing me to be confident and secure, which is what I think has helped me to be successful rather than my skills and abilities. They really have pushed me to just be myself and do my own thing which is what I believe has helped me to be where I am today. I think I have been blessed to have such amazing women around me, so my goal in life is to be that woman in other people's lives.

When you’re not working and designing, what can we find you doing?

At a cafe (so basic!), the beach, reading a book (currently, Boy Swallows Universe), watching Netflix or Stan, a little bit of retail therapy, playing a board game or eating ice cream at Messina (you have to try their choc-mint). But most of the time there is a high chance that I am either with my family or friends. I really do cherish those that are around me and I am always looking forward to being around them.

Do you have any female role models/icons you look up to? If so who, and why?

I feel like I have been so blessed with all the females in my life. But, of course, I would have to say my mum, she’s the best. She is sweet and kind through every season. Anyone that knows my mum would have nothing but good things to say. I love her. If I grow up half as good as she is, I’d be pumped!

What is your favourite thing about women?

How different we all are, none of us are the same. We all have a unique style, bodies, personalities, and goals. I think women are really good at embracing their differences and I think it’s so beautiful when women are confident in their individuality.

What trend do you secretly love, but would never wear?

I love the “Arizona Love” Trekky sandals. I think they are epic but I just feel like I couldn’t pull them off, I don’t really like feet either so that probably has something to do with it haha.

Favourite Apéro style right now?

The Abbey Denim Crop Pant, I love a good basic for my wardrobe that can pretty much be worn with everything.

What is a charity organisation supporting women that you think people should know about? Why is this organisation important to you?

One that I love is the Brave Foundation, it’s an Australian not-for-profit that equips expecting and parenting teens with resources and education opportunities to facilitate happy and healthy families over time. It breaks my heart when people are going through a life-changing season and they feel like they are alone, I love this foundation as it is nurturing environment that brings support and love to those who feel lost and helps them not to give up.
